With the festive season in full swing, the celebrations at Sopha have begun. For us Christmas always starts with the planning of our window display – our favourite of the year! Our visual stylist always does an incredible job and it’s clear for all to see just how much thought goes into our displays. This year however we really pushed the boat out, going for a unique colour scheme one doesn’t usually associate with Christmas. Passersby have been more than a little surprised to see a stunning combination of olive walls, bottle green furniture and shocking pink accessories. After shopping for the baubles and magnificent candy canes, we had to conjure up a slogan to make everyone smile. The whole team were involved in the thought process, and after much deliberation we thought of “Christmas is almost here… so spruce up your home as Santa is near!”. With the props picked up and the decals ordered, all that was left to do was decorate!
With the outside of the shop done, we turned our attention inside. Every year the team look forward to getting the Christmas tree and the fun of decorating it, and this year was no exception! We were a tad disappointed when a covid delay meant we had to wait a little longer before the gorgeous fur trees we all know and love were in stock, but all 8ft of ours was well worth the wait…
Once the shop was looking Christmas ready, we pulled out all of the festive bits and pieces to help our customers get in the mood too. We’ve got a few firm favourites from previous seasons as well as some new cushions and a whole new collection of candles, reed diffusers and wax melts. We certainly don’t mind telling you, they smell divine! You can shop our Christmas accessories online; from ornaments to doorstops, there are lots of great ideas for sweet little stocking fillers.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without the thing we all treat ourselves to – Christmas food. This year we’ve made some changes to our coffee shop menu, introducing festive drinks (gingerbread latte, mixed sp-ice and orange hot chocolate mountain), a new festive feast sandwich filled with turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing and cranberry sauce, and of course we had to bring out the staple mince pies! We’re really pleased to be offering these festive treats to customers and hope you love them as much as we do.
Last but by no means least, we love to spend the festive season fundraising for great causes. Throughout December we’ll be raising money for Alzheimer’s Society (did you see us dressed up as elves for Elf Day?) and Save the Children (you’ll spot us in our Christmas jumpers on the 10th and onwards until the big day). We’d be really grateful to anyone who is able to chip in with a donation towards these wonderful charities, and look forward to seeing your Christmas jumpers too!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, with love from the Sopha team!
