Sopha raises over £1,100 for community defibrillator
We held our Easter Defibrillator Fund Raffle live on Facebook on Easter Bank Holiday Monday, which went down well with our community despite it being Kevin, our store manager’s, first time in front of the camera let alone live!
Our Fundraising total
We are delighted that we have raised £1,273 towards our fundraising goal of £1,400 to install a defibrillator in our store and to train people on its proper use.
The Importance of a Defibrillator
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is an unexpected and potentially fatal event that affects around 30,000 people each year. Quick access to a defibrillator is crucial, as every minute counts when it comes to increasing the chances of survival. By installing a defibrillator close to the town centre, we can offer the Highbridge community a fighting chance in the face of an SCA.
Thank you to all who contributed
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our raffle in some way be that through donating raffle prizes, buying tickets or even selling tickets. The raffle featured some amazing prizes donated by local businesses and some of our valued suppliers. We would also like to thank those individuals and businesses who have given us cash donations towards our defibrillator fund. Your support really means a lot to us and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Raffle Winners
We had over 50 amazing prizes to give out to some worthy winners. As we went live with our Easter Raffle we announced a competition in which you could win a £50 gift voucher to spend in store. This was won by Gill, one of our lovely customers, who was thrilled to have won;
"OMG - Thank you so much. I never win anything. I am over the moon. I’ve been looking at a table lamp for ages but kept putting off buying it. Can’t wait to come in again. Think it may be tea and cake tomorrow."
And if you’re wondering yes she did use her voucher to buy one of our new Cosgrove collection lamps, which looks good on one of our side tables she had previously bought from us.
Here are a few of our lucky winners.
Reaching our goal
We would love to reach our fundraising goal of £1,400 so we can train our team to use the defibrillator in case it needs to be used. If you would like to help us you can still donate on our JustGiving page.
Thanks also to our team
Last but not least we would like to give a big thank you to Kevin our store manager who has organised the whole event from asking local businesses to donate raffle prizes and selling tickets for us to being in front of the camera when we went live.
