Sopha has been named as a finalist in the Somerset Business Awards.
Sopha are delighted to announce that they have been named as a finalist for the ‘Environmental Achievement’ Award in this years Somerset Business Awards.
As a furniture store who strive to put sustainability first it means a lot to be named as a finalist for this category. We have worked hard towards achieving environmental awards and working through schemes such as ‘Plastic Free Champion’ and Litter Free Coast and Sea Business Awards. Over the last few months we have been busy updating our website with regard to sustainability to each product we sell as well as adding LED lights and lamps to our Lighting Range. Did you know LEDs convert 95% of the energy used into light, rather than creating unnecessary heat like traditional light bulbs?
Founder, Matt Scott, says “The environment has always been at the heart of our business and we can’t wait to share with people some of the advances that we will be making over the coming years. A huge thanks to each and everyone of our employees, partners and contractors for all their hard work that has led to this nomination.”
This years awards will be an online event, the first in it’s 16 years of awards, due to current restrictions. It will be held at 3pm on Friday, March 26 with host, BBC presenter and journalist, Claire Carter.
The Somerset Business Awards are hosted by Somerset Chamber of Commerce whose Chief Executive Stephen Henagulph said: “It was great to see so many entries from both Chamber members and non-members from all corners of the county and representing a wide range of sectors and industries. These awards are the largest in Somerset and are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that is great about our diverse business community.”
